Privacy Policy
We keep this simple: we collect as little as possible, store it securely in the EU, never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
1. Who We Are
TradingBrief is a product of Mathonyx GmbH, a software company based in Germany. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@mathonyx.com.
2. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to run the app:
- Email address — optional, provided only if you choose to create an account. Used to identify your account and contact you if needed.
- Device ID (UUID) — a randomly generated anonymous identifier assigned to your device the first time you open the app. Not linked to your name or Apple ID.
- Briefing history — the market briefings generated for your account, stored so you can review past analyses.
- Apple subscription status — whether you have an active free or Pro subscription, as reported by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.
We do not collect passwords. Account access uses email-only authentication.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and personalise the app experience
- To generate AI-powered market briefings (see Section 5)
- To manage your subscription tier (free vs. Pro)
- To respond to support requests you initiate
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
4. Where We Store Your Data
All user data is stored on AWS RDS in eu-west-1 (Ireland). Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area.
5. AI-Generated Briefings (Anthropic Claude)
Briefings are generated using the Anthropic Claude API. When a briefing is created, current market price data is sent to Anthropic's servers to generate the analysis. Your email address and personal identifiers are not included in these requests.
Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy and API usage terms. You can review Anthropic's policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
6. Payments and Subscriptions
All payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see, process, or store your card details or billing information. Apple's privacy policy governs how your payment data is handled.
We receive only a signal indicating whether your subscription is active or expired.
7. Analytics and Tracking
We use no third-party analytics, no tracking pixels, and no cookies. The app does not track your behaviour across other apps or websites.
8. Push Notifications
TradingBrief may send push notifications for briefing alerts. Push notifications are optional. You can enable or disable them at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → TradingBrief.
9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days. Anonymised usage data (not linked to you) may be retained for operational purposes.
10. Your GDPR Rights (EU Users)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object — object to certain types of processing
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@mathonyx.com. We will respond within 30 days.
11. Children
TradingBrief is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
12. Third-Party Services
Beyond Anthropic (briefing generation) and Apple (payments and distribution), TradingBrief does not share your data with third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
13. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you via the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
